Say "hello" to the newest group of Americans.
It has been a wonderful 4th of July here in Baghdad. This morning we had a naturalization ceremony at Al Faw Palace where over a hundred Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines became our newest countrymen. What is truly inspiring is that each of these men and women took an oath to support and defend the United States before they themselves become citizens. I have no doubt that they fully understand and appreciate what it means to be an American. Let us hope that those who were blessed to have been born citizens never forget. Happy Independence Day.
