On Sunday, 3pm Iraq time, Christian was officially promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel!! The picture above is from the promotion ceremony, his director RADM Buss swore him in and Colonel Smith pinned his rank on (normally something I would get to do, but they wouldn't fly me over for it!! :)We are so very proud of him and all of the hard work he does. They have been working some pretty long hours and rarely get a full day off. Hopefully our time in Italy will rejuvenate him. We found a island off the coast called Ischia that has thermal spa's heated by a volocano- they are supposed to be very therupeutic. We are planning on going over for two days and checking them out!!
I will post a few things and pictures of Italy once Trevor & I get there and then I probably won't add anything else until we get back. Once we get back I will post lots of pictures from our trip!!

Congratulations is right! Well done! I hope the three of you have a great time in Italy. You certainly deserve it. I loved the letter you wrote Trevor about the flag. It made me cry. We miss you.

Congratulations on your promotion! Very strange having LTC friends now. Do you remember as a 2LT when the LTC was the old guy? Glad to hear you're not only getting some down time next month but you get to spend it family.
