Happy Holidays from Baghdad

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends. Thank you so much for your love and support these past few months. While it wasn’t the same as being at home for the holidays, Christmas in Baghdad was nice. Christmas Eve I attended a service in the rotunda of Al Faw Palace. Beautiful singing and a great sermon. We closed by singing “Silent Night” by candlelight. Christmas morning I went for a run and took it easy. My directorate met for a short time, then we shared a meal. I ended the evening by opening presents Santa placed under my Christmas tree. Being away from home is hard but if I have to spend Christmas away from my loved ones, spending it with Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines is a good second. I miss you all and look forward to seeing you in the new year. Happy Holidays and best wishes for a safe and happy New Year.
